창세기 Genesis 38
△Gen.창38:1 그리고 이렇게 되었나니 그 무렵에 유다가 자기 형제들로부터 내려가서 그의 이름이 히라라 하는 어떤 아둘람 사람에게 갔더라
And it came to pass at that time, that Judah went down from his brethren, and turned into a certain Adullamite, whose name was Hirah.
△Gen.창38:2, JST38:2 유다가 거기서 어떤 가나안 사람 수아라 하는 자의 딸을 보고 그녀를 데리고 들어가 그녀와 동침했더니
And Judah saw there a daughter of a certain Canaanite, whose name was Shuah; and he took her, and went in and lay with her.
△Gen.창38:3 그녀가 잉태하여 아들을 낳으매 그가 그의 이름을 엘이라 하더라
And she conceived, and bare a son; and he called his name Er.
△Gen.창38:4 그녀가 다시 잉태하여 아들을 낳으매 그녀가 그의 이름을 오난이라 하고
And she conceived again, and bare a son; and she called his name Onan.
△Gen.창38:5 그녀가 또 잉태하여 아들을 낳고 그의 이름을 셀라라 했으니 그녀가 그를 낳을 때 유다는 거십에 있더라
And she yet again conceived, and bare a son; and called his name Shelah; and he was at Chezib, when she bare him.
△Gen.창38:6 유다가 장자 엘을 위해 아내를 데려왔는데 그녀의 이름은 다말이더라
And Judah took a wife for Er his first-born, whose name was Tamar.
△Gen.창38:7 유다의 장자 엘은 주가 보기에 악하여 주가 그를 죽이니라
And Er, Judah’s firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the Lord; and the Lord slew him.
△Gen.창38:8, JST38:8 유다가 오난에게 이르되 가서 너의 형제의 아내와 결혼하여 너의 형제에게 씨를 일으키라 하매
And Judah said unto Onan, Go and marry thy brother’s wife, and raise up seed unto thy brother.
△Gen.창38:9, JST38:9 오난은 그 씨가 자기 것이 되지 않을 것을 알고 이렇게 되었나니 그가 자기 형제의 아내와 결혼하되 자기 형제에게 씨를 일으키지 않으려고 그녀와 동침하려 하지 않더라
And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he married his brother’s wife, that he would not lie with her, lest he should raise up seed unto his brother.
△Gen.창38:10 그가 행한 일이 주를 노엽게 했으므로 주가 그도 죽이니라
And the thing which he did displeased the Lord; wherefore he slew him also.
△Gen.창38:11, JST38:11 그때 유다가 며느리 다말에게 이르되 나의 아들 셀라가 자랄 때까지 너의 아버지의 집에서 과부로 남아 있으라 했으니 이는 그가 이르되 혹시 그의 형제들이 한 것처럼 그도 죽을까 하노라 함이더라 이에 다말이 자기 아버지의 집에 가서 거하더라
Then said Judah to Tamar his daughter-in-law, Remain a widow at thy father’s house, till Shelah my son be grown; for he said, Lest perad-venture he die also, as his brethren did. And Tamar went and dwelt in her father’s house.
△Gen.창38:12 시간이 흘러 수아의 딸인 유다의 아내가 죽은지라 유다가 위로받은 후에 그가 자기 친구 아둘람 사람 히라와 함께 딤나로가서 그의 양털 깎는 자들에게 이르렀더니
And in process of time the daughter of Shuah Judah’s wife died; and Judah was comforted, and went up unto his sheepshearers to Timnath, he and his friend Hirah the Adullamite.
△Gen.창38:13, JST38:13 어떤 사람이 다말에게 말하여 이르되 보라 너의 시아버지가 양의 털을 깎으려고 딤나에 올라왔느니라 하매
And it was told Tamar, saying, Behold, thy father-in-law goeth up to Timnath to shear his sheep.
△Gen.창38:14 그녀가 과부의 옷을 벗고 너울로 가리고 몸을 감싸서 딤나로 가는 길옆 공터에 앉았으니 이는 셀라가 장성했는데도 자기를 그에게 아내로 주지 않는 것을 보았기 때문이라
And she put her widow’s garments off from her, and covered her with a veil, and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place, which is by the way to Timnath; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given unto him to wife.
△Gen.창38:15 그녀가 얼굴을 가렸으므로 유다는 그녀를 보고 창녀로 생각하여
When Judah saw her, he thought her to be a harlot; because she had covered her face.
△Gen.창38:16, JST38:16 길가의 그녀에게 돌이켜 이르되 청컨대 내가 너에게 들어가 동침하게 하라 하매 (그는 그녀가 자기 며느리임을 알지 못했더라) 그녀가 이르되 당신은 무엇을 주고 나에게 들어와 동침하려 하나이까 하는지라
And he turned unto her by the way, and said, Go to, I pray thee, let me come in and lie with thee; (for he knew not that she was his daughter-in-law;) and she said, What wilt thou give me, that thou mayest come in and lie with me?
△Gen.창38:17 그가 이르되 내가 염소 떼로부터 새끼 한 마리를 너에게 보내리라 하매 그녀가 이르되 당신이 그것을 보낼 때까지 담보물을 주겠나이까 하더라
And he said, I will send thee a kid from the flock. And she said, Wilt thou give me a pledge, till thou send it?
△Gen.창38:18, JST38:18 이에 그가 이르되 내가 너에게 어떤 담보물을 주어야 하겠느냐 하니 그녀가 이르되 당신의 도장과 팔찌와 당신의 손에 있는 지팡이를 주소서 하매 그가 그것을 주고 그녀에게 들어가 동침하니라 그녀가 그를 통해 잉태하니
And he said, What pledge shall I give thee? And she said, Thy signet, and thy bracelets, and thy staff that is in thine hand. And he gave it her, and came in and slept with her, and she conceived by him.
△Gen.창38:19 그녀가 일어나 자기 길을 가서 너울을 벗고 과부의 옷을 입으니라
And she arose, and went away, and laid by her veil from her, and put on the garments of her widowhood.
△Gen.창38:20 유다가 자기 친구 아둘람 사람의 손에 염소 새끼를 보내고 그 여자의 손으로부터 담보물을 받아오게 했으나 그가 그녀를 찾지 못한지라
And Judah sent the kid by the hand of his friend the Adullamite, to receive his pledge from the woman’s hand; but he found her not.
△Gen.창38:21 이에 그가 그곳 사람에게 물어 이르되 길옆 공터에 있던 창녀는 어디 있느냐 하니 그들이 이르되 이곳에는 창녀가 없었느니라 하매
Then he asked the men of that place, saying, Where is the harlot, that was openly by the wayside? And they said, There was no harlot in this place.
△Gen.창38:22 그가 유다에게 돌아와 이르되 내가 그녀를 찾지 못했으며 그곳 사람도 이르되 이곳에는 창녀가 없었다 하더라 하니
And he returned to Judah, and said, I cannot find her; and also the men of the place said, that there was no harlot in this place.
△Gen.창38:23 유다가 이르되 그녀가 그것을 갖게 하여 우리가 수치를 당하지 않도록 하라 보라 나는 이 염소 새끼를 보냈으되 너가 그녀를 찾지 못했느니라 하니라
And Judah said, Let her take it to her, lest we be shamed; behold, I sent this kid, and thou hast not found her.
△Gen.창38:24, JST38:24 그리고 이렇게 되었나니 석 달쯤 후에 어떤 사람이 유다에게 말하여 이르되 너의 며느리 다말이 창녀 짓을 행했도다 보라 그녀가 음행으로 아이를 가졌느니라 하매 유다가 이르되 그녀를 끌어내어 불사르라 하니
And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter-in-law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.
△Gen.창38:25, JST38:25 그녀가 끌려나갈 때 그녀가 시아버지에게 사람을 보내어 이르되 이것을 가진 사람을 통해 내가 아이를 가졌나이다 하고 그녀가 이르되 청컨대 이것들 곧 그 도장과 팔찌와 지팡이가 누구의 것인지 확인해 주소서 하더라
When she was brought forth, she sent to her father-in-law, saying, Buy the man, whose these are, am I with child; and she said, Discern, I pray thee, whose are these, the signet, and bracelets, and staff.
△Gen.창38:26 유다가 그것을 알아보고 이르되 그녀는 나보다 의롭도다 이는 내가 그녀를 나의 아들 셀라에게 주지 않았기 때문이라 하고 그가 다시는 그녀를 알지 않더라
And Judah acknowledged them, and said, She hath been more righteous than I; because that I gave her not to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more.
△Gen.창38:27 그리고 이렇게 되었나니 그녀가 산고를 겪을 때 보라 그녀의 태 안에 쌍둥이가 있더라
And it came to pass in the time of her travail, that, behold, twins were in her womb.
△Gen.창38:28 그리고 이렇게 되었나니 그녀가 해산할 때 하나가 손을 내밀매 산파가 그 손을 잡고 주홍색 실을 그의 손에 매어주며 이르되 이 아이가 먼저 나왔다 하더라
And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand; and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread saying, This came out first.
△Gen.창38:29 그리고 이렇게 되었나니 그가 손을 도로 집어넣더니 보라 그의 형제가 나오는지라 그녀가 이르되 어찌하여 너가 터뜨리고 나오느냐 이 위반은 너의 탓이라 했으므로 그의 이름을 베레스라 하고
And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out; and she said, How hast thou broken forth? this breach be upon thee; therefore his name was called Pharez.
△Gen.창38:30 그 후에 손에 주홍색 실이 있는 그의 형제가 나오니 그의 이름은 세라라 하더라
And afterward came out his brother, that had the scarlet thread upon his hand; and his name was called Zarah.
