제3니파이 3Nephi 8
△3Ne.삼니8:1 이제 이렇게 되었나니 우리의 기록에 따르면 우리는 우리 기록이 참됨을 아노니 이는 보라 이 기록을 보존한 이가 의인이었음이라—그는 진실로 예수의 이름으로 많은 기적을 행했나니 자기의 간악함으로부터 모든 면에서 정결하게 되지 않고는 예수의 이름으로 기적을 행할 수 있는 사람이 아무도 없느니라—
And now it came to pass that accor-ding to our record, and we know our record to be true, for behold, it was a just man who did keep the record—for he truly did many miracles in the name of Jesus; and there was not any man who could do a miracle in the name of Jesus save he were cleansed every whit from his iniquity—
△3Ne.삼니8:2 이제 이렇게 되었나니 이 사람이 우리 시간을 헤아리는데 실수를 범하지 않았다면 제삼십삼년이 지났느니라
And now it came to pass, if there was no mistake made by this man in the reckoning of our time, the thirty and third year had passed away;
△3Ne.삼니8:3 백성은 레이맨인 선지자 사무엘이 준 표적 참으로 땅 위에 삼 일간 어둠이 있으리라 한 그때를 매우 간절하게 기다리기 시작하더니
And the people began to look with great earnestness for the sign which had been given by the prophet Samuel, the Lamanite, yea, for the time that there should be darkness for the space of three days over the face of the land.
△3Ne.삼니8:4 그렇게 많은 표적이 주어졌음에도 불구하고 백성 가운데는 크게 의심하는 일과 논쟁하는 일이 시작되었더라
And there began to be great doubtings and disputations among the people, notwithstanding so many signs had been given.
△3Ne.삼니8:5 그리고 이렇게 되었나니 제삼십사년 첫째 달 사일에 큰 폭풍이 일어났는데 온 땅에 그런 것이 알려진 적이 없었더라
And it came to pass in the thirty and fourth year, in the first month, on the fourth day of the month, there arose a great storm, such an one as never had been known in all the land.
△3Ne.삼니8:6 또한 크고 두려운 폭풍이 있었고 극심한 우레가 있어서 온 땅이 금방이라도 갈라질 듯 흔들렸더라
And there was also a great and terr-ible tempest; and there was terrible thunder, insomuch that it did shake the whole earth as if it was about to divide asunder.
△3Ne.삼니8:7 또 심히 강렬한 번개가 있었나니 온 땅에 그런 것이 알려진 적이 없었고
And there were exceedingly sharp lightnings, such as never had been known in all the land.
△3Ne.삼니8:8 제이라헤믈라 성에는 불이 붙었으며
And the city of Zarahemla did take fire.
△3Ne.삼니8:9 모로나이 성은 깊은 바다로 가라앉아 그 주민이 물에 빠져 죽었더라
And the city of Moroni did sink into the depths of the sea, and the inhabitants thereof were drowned.
△3Ne.삼니8:10 또 땅이 모로나이하 성 위로 솟아오르매 성이 있던 자리는 큰 산이 되었으며
And the earth was carried up upon the city of Moronihah, that in the place of the city there became a great mou-ntain.
△3Ne.삼니8:11 남쪽 땅에는 크고 두려운 멸망이 있더라
And there was a great and terrible destruction in the land southward.
△3Ne.삼니8:12 그러나 보라 북쪽 땅에는 더 크고 두려운 멸망이 있었으니 보라 폭풍과 회오리바람과 우레와 번개와 온 땅에 있는 심히 큰 지진으로 온 땅이 변했더라
But behold, there was a more great and terrible destruction in the land northward; for behold, the whole face of the land was changed, because of the tempest and the whirlwinds, and the thunderings and the lightnings, and the exceedingly great quaking of the whole earth;
△3Ne.삼니8:13 대로는 끊어지고 평평한 길이 파괴되고 평탄한 곳이 거칠게 되었으며
And the highways were broken up, and the level roads were spoiled, and many smooth places became rough.
△3Ne.삼니8:14 크고 유명한 많은 성읍이 가라앉고 많은 성읍이 불타고 많은 성읍이 요동하여 건물들이 땅에 무너지고 주민은 죽임당하고 그 장소는 황폐하게 버려졌으며
And many great and notable cities were sunk, and many were burned, and many were shaken till the buildings thereof had fallen to the earth, and the inhabitants thereof were slain, and the places were left desolate.
△3Ne.삼니8:15 남은 성읍이 더러 있었으나 피해가 심히 컸고 그 안에서 죽은 자들이 많았더라
And there were some cities which remained; but the damage thereof was exceedingly great, and there were many in them who were slain.
△3Ne.삼니8:16 또 회오리바람에 휩쓸려 간 자들이 더러 있었으되 그들이 휩쓸려 갔다는 것만 알 뿐 그들이 어디로 갔는지 아무도 알지 못했나니
And there were some who were carried away in the whirlwind; and whither they went no man knoweth, save they know that they were carried away.
△3Ne.삼니8:17 이렇게 폭풍과 우레와 번개와 지진으로 인해 온 땅이 변형되었더라
And thus the face of the whole earth became deformed, because of the tempests, and the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the quaking of the earth.
△3Ne.삼니8:18 보라 바위는 둘로 갈라졌으며 그것들이 온 땅 위에 부서져 모든 지면에 부서진 조각과 이음새와 갈라진 틈이 보이더라
And behold, the rocks were rent in twain; they were broken up upon the face of the whole earth, insomuch that they were found in broken fragments, and in seams and in cracks, upon all the face of the land.
△3Ne.삼니8:19 그리고 이렇게 되었나니 우레와 번개와 폭풍과 태풍과 지진이 그치매—보라 그 일은 세 시간가량 계속되었더라 어떤 이는 시간이 더 길었다 하나 이 크고 두려운 일은 세 시간 동안에 행해졌느니라—그때 보라 땅 위에 어둠이 있더라
And it came to pass that when the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the storm, and the tempest, and the quakings of the earth did cease—for behold, they did last for about the space of three hours; and it was said by some that the time was greater; nevertheless, all these great and terrible things were done in about the space of three hours—and then behold,
there was darkness upon the face of the land.
△3Ne.삼니8:20 그리고 이렇게 되었나니 온 땅에 짙은 어둠이 있어 엎드러지지 않은 주민은 그 어둠의 안개를 느낄 수 있더라
And it came to pass that there was thick darkness upon all the face of the land, insomuch that the inhabitants thereof who had not fallen could feel the vapor of darkness;
△3Ne.삼니8:21 어둠으로 인해 빛이 있을 수 없었나니 촛불이나 횃불도 있을 수 없었고 좋고 심히 마른 나무로도 불을 붙일 수 없으므로 아무 빛도 전혀 있을 수 없었으며
And there could be no light, because of the darkness, neither candles, neither torches; neither could there be fire kindled with their fine and exceedingly dry wood, so that there could not be any light at all;
△3Ne.삼니8:22 불빛이나 희미한 빛이나 태양이나 달이나 별이나 어떤 빛도 보이지 않았나니 땅에 있는 어둠의 안개가 그렇게 심하더라
And there was not any light seen, neither fire, nor glimmer, neither the sun, nor the moon, nor the stars, for so great were the mists of darkness which were upon the face of the land.
△3Ne.삼니8:23 그리고 이렇게 되었나니 빛이 보이지 않는 날이 삼 일간 지속되고 모든 백성 가운데 큰 애통과 울부짖음과 슬퍼하는 일이 그치지 않았으며 참으로 그들에게 임한 어둠과 큰 멸망으로 인해 백성의 괴로움이 컸더라
And it came to pass that it did last for the space of three days that there was no light seen; and there was great mourning and howling and weeping among all the people continually; yea, great were the groanings of the people, because of the darkness and the great destruction which had come upon them.
△3Ne.삼니8:24 한 곳에서 부르짖는 소리가 들려 이르되 오 이 크고 두려운 날 이전에 우리가 회개했다면 우리 형제들이 살아남았을 것이요 저 큰 성 제이라헤믈라 안에서 불살라지지 않았으리라 하고
And in one place they were heard to cry, saying: O that we had repented before this great and terrible day, and then would our brethren have been spared, and they would not have been burned in that great city Zarahemla.
△3Ne.삼니8:25 또 다른 곳에서 부르짖으며 애통하는 소리가 들려 이르되 오 이 크고 두려운 날 이전에 우리가 회개하여 선지자들을 죽이거나 돌로 치지 않고 그들을 쫓아내지 않았다면 우리 어머니와 아름다운 딸과 자녀가 살아남았을 것이요 저 큰 성 모로나이하 안에 묻히지 않았으리라 했나니 이렇게 백성의 울부짖음이 크고 두려웠더라
And in another place they were heard to cry and mourn, saying: O that we had repented before this great and terrible day, and had not killed and stoned the prophets, and cast them out; then would our mothers and our fair daughters, and our children have been spared, and not have been buried up in that great city Moronihah. And thus were the howlings of the people great and terrible.
